Fund My Overseas Exchange 2020
Don protégé
Hello, my name is Catrine Stachiw
I live in Bellingen, Australia. Bellingen is a beautiful place to live. It is close to natural clear swimming holes and spectacular beaches. In my free time I love to hike, swim at the river and take photos of the natural environment and how it interacts with manmade structures. I enjoy reading, painting and sharing meals with close friends and family around a campfire.
I am a year 9 student at Bellingen High School. The school has a caring learning environment and I have a great circle of friends.
Over the last few years, I experienced depression. It was a tough time. It was hard to be motivated or find enjoyment in life. However, I got through that difficult time. I feel stronger and more confident now. I am eager to challenge myself and gain life experience. When I heard about an opportunity to travel overseas, I instantly felt it was something I wanted to experience.
I have chosen to do a Rotary Youth Exchange and I plan to depart in the year 2020 to live with a host family in Finland. I am excited about going overseas for the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone, my daily routine and face the unknown. It will be life changing for me.
The reason I am crowd funding is that I cannot afford to do the Rotary Youth Exchange without financial assistance. I come from a single parent household with two younger sisters. My mum works very hard to support us and has raised us alone with little outside assistance. Therefore, without financial assistance I will not be able to go.
Once I started adding up the expenses, I realised that I was going to have to get super creative and passionate about how I raise the funds. I started a job at the local market selling fruit and vegetables to earn money. I am prepared to do whatever it takes to gain the support and finances to allow me to achieve my goal.
I am aiming for $12,000 which will cover-
$8,000 - Rotary Program:
• Domestic/International airfares
• Insurance
• Tuition
• Visa
• Rotary allowance of $120AU/month
$1,000 - Emergency Fund
$3,000 - 14-day Euro Tour with other Rotary exchange students
If you can make a donation of any amount, it would help me out tremendously.
Thank you for your generosity.
If I achieve my goal, you can follow my journey on Instagram @_stachiw__
Kind regards, Catrine
