Fund to Rebuild Pulga

Donation protected
Pulga is a small town in Northern California that has had a magical history spanning Native American tribes, the gold rush, wealthy industrialists, and hippies and beatniks. It is currently owned by Betsy Ann Cowley, who spent years rebuilding the town with her own two hands.

One of Betsy Ann's intentions was to create Pulga as a sanctuary for women, and last year we held an off-the-grid event for 100 women in Pulga that was absolutely life changing. For months, we've all day dreamed of going back there.

After tomorrow, we can't. At least not to the same Pulga. Pulga was evacuated as the fires that whipped through Butte County spread wildly, scorching hundreds of structures in the area. Fortunately the people and dogs in town got out. Betsy Ann was on her first vacation in years with her family.

The firefighters burnt a perimeter around town, and did the best they could, according to information Betsy Ann received. We don't yet know how bad the damage is. But we know parts of Pulga-- and this entire community-- will have to be rebuilt.

So many of you have asked what you can do, so I wanted to get this up as soon as possible. Will update everyone as Betsy Ann hears more.
