Kristy Kanuho was born on February 3, 1985 in Tuba City, AZ to Velencia Margret Benally and Ray Lee Kanuho. Her navajo clans were as follows: She was of the Red-Running-Into-The- Water-Clan (Táchii'nii), she was born for The Deer Spring Clan (Bįįh bitoodnii), her maternal grandfather's clan isTowering House People (Kinyaa'áanii), and her paternal grandfather's clan is the Black Streak Wood People Clan (Tsi'naajinii).

She graduated from Coconino High School in 2003 and enlisted in the United Stated Army shortly after and served from 2003 to 2008. Kristy was deployed to Tikrit, Iraq in July of 2006 and she volunteered as a Combat Logistics Support Specialist during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006-2007. She was a member of the 209th Aviation Support Battalion, 25th Infantry Division. Kristy was honorably discharged in 2008. Upon her return she enrolled at Northern Arizona University in hopes of one day becoming a history teacher and she continued to push through any obstacle to reach her goal.

Unfortunately we lost Kristy suddenly on June 1, 2017. Our family is doing the best to honor her the way she deserves. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. 100% of all proceeds donated will be used for Kristy's funeral costs.

She is survived by her mother Velencia Benally, her father Ray Lee Kanuho, her brother Terrance Kanuho, her sister Rochelle Kanuho, her brothers Joshua Ratcliff, and Jesse Ratcliff.

---Just a heads up, due to the funeral being on this coming Thursday we will need to shut down the gofundme MONDAY MORNING 9am MST since it takes 2-5 business days to process the money. Again, thanks for all the support, its been overwhelming. Don't be afraid to take the time to share the page one last time anywhere it is appropriate. You've all been wonderful---
