Happy's Medical Fund

Anyone who knows Happy Comly understands the sheer passion and dedication she has for show jumping, horses, and riders alike. You also know what a determined, positive, tough young lady she is. We have such a wonderful community of friends and family and so many of you have asked how you can help following Happy’s accident. We have set up this GoFundMe account to assist Happy and her family with the financial burden they now face with out-of-pocket medical expenses. They are so grateful for your outreach and support, and feel blessed to be surrounded by such an incredible community.
Happy is a talented young professional and has been a rising star in both the jumper and hunter rings, with wins in National and International Hunter Derbies as well as Grand Prix wins at both regional and national standards. After starting her own business in October of 2015, and quickly growing Comly Sport Horses into a reputable and successful show barn, Happy seemed to be on the fast track to achieving her dreams.
On Wednesday, November 30th, Happy sustained a fall from a horse that resulted in multiple fractures in her upper left arm. Surgery revealed more damage than what had been visible on x-ray, requiring a plate, pins, and bone graft in order to stabilize the bone. Happy remained extremely positive through it all, continuing to support her riders from the ground and ensuring that the horses remained in their normal training program despite her inability to ride. She is one tough cookie and was certain she’d heal quickly and be back on a horse in no time.
At her 2 week recheck, the doctor discovered that the plate, pins, and bone graft had not held and another surgery would be required. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Happy’s personal health insurance, it has been very difficult for her to find a doctor in Dallas that can perform her surgery in a timely manner. Since the timeliness, quality, and outcome of treatment will ultimately affect not only her livelihood, but her overall lifestyle, her family has opted to pay for Happy’s second surgery and resulting medical expenses out-of-pocket.
Our hope is that this GoFundMe account will alleviate some of the tremendous financial burden Happy and her family are facing. Money raised is on behalf of Amely Comly, Happy's mother, and will go towards Happy's medical expenses. Every little bit helps, and we can’t thank you enough for your support.
In the famous words of Happy :
“What time is it?" .... "GAME TIME!”
Let’s show her what that really means!
