INTRODUCTION
This is a transformational moment in our history and we are being presented with a choice. What will we do with a society shaken by some of the worst impacts of a global pandemic despite being one of the wealthiest nations on earth? How will we respond to the strongest, largest global movement the world has ever seen for Black lives demanding that our society finally face its racist demons and bring justice and repair to our painful past? Where do we move next after so many of our institutions are marred by fascist leadership, while never having served the majority of our vast, diverse nation in the first place? What choice will we make?
Gemstones in the Sun is choosing recovery, individually and communally, and aspires to help shape an American society that prizes the power of rich relationships over debilitating want from lack or greed in community. We believe that in this pivotal moment, people of color will continue to make a significant contribution toward making transformative life in America a reality. We are working today so that in the future, more effective ways of resourcing impactful work-for-change will naturally take priority over current American society-driven solicitation approaches. We believe in a new kind of spirit-connected community, where well-being and resources are shared, where people of color are leading diverse communities into sustainable futures.

Please consider financially supporting Gemstones so we can continue this work for our future. We are particularly pleased that increased numbers of our Freedom Circle meetings will be offered this fall. These meetings are purposed in supporting people of color as they recover psycho-spiritually. We believe that it is precisely our developed capacity to be introspective and to recover that makes it possible for people to garner the will/ability to love, support each other, become (far more) self-aware, and to share in community in healthy, sustainable ways. This progression doesn't just benefit POC in America. This work also directly benefits non-POC. It benefits us all. Gemstones begs everyone to participate in the unfolding process of transformation that is well underway all over the world!
Freedom Circles will each cost $2500 to establish. We hope you will gift us with the necessary and much needed financial means to help proliferate 50 Freedom Circle meetings this fall in mid-Atlantic states, including Washington, DC, Virginia, and Maryland, in metro areas that are just a stone throw away from the White House.
SUMMARY OF THE WORK
For over a year now as Gemstones in the Sun, we have been engaging in an interfaith online conversation about shifting beliefs, resources, and culture in America. Your personal and/or organizational financial contribution to this conversation aimed at healing the hurt that internalized racism causes people of color in America to experience will be invaluable to our recovery within and beyond the current multiple crises. We are currently working on strengthening Gemstones's capacity to grow and sustain its web-based engagement and to do an aggressive marketing campaign to help us expand our programmatic work -- the reason your gift and offering would be invaluable!
Gemstones in the Sun participants and supporters of color take our responsibility to strengthen and deepen our inner spiritual journey and begin our healing process, seriously. We know that our inner spiritual work will enhance our outward doings for justice now, and that this can well occur through the continuance of Gemstone in the Sun’s mission. We, people of color want our justice work to be healthy, productive, and long-lasting. We are self-empowered and clear in our belief that we are far more than just victims!
