Get Nathan A Piano

Donation protected
Hi, thank you for caring enough to listen to our message!
INTRO: Nathan is Venice Beach's homeless piano man, he's 67. His piano is not only his sole livelihood, but also the shelter he sleeps under year-long, come rain, wind, or winter.
THE NEED: Recently, Nathan has been troubled by the fact that his piano is on its last days and could give in at any moment.
THE PROBLEM: He doesn't have the funds to get a new piano.
WHERE YOU COME IN: We are hoping to raise funding to buy Nathan a new piano...and a new home.
OR
If you have, or know anyone or any foundation that might have, a baby grand/grand piano in the greater L.A area that you or they are willing to part with in order to help with this tremendously important cause, please contact us at the email provided in the campaign.
THE DOC:
Nathan is an extremely talented musician who has opened for bands such as The Doors and Janis Joplin in the 70's, he's toured with Iron Butterfly, and played huge venues such as The Fillmore, but you wouldn't be able to tell that if you saw him on the Venice boardwalk. "What Happened to Nathan" is a documentary about happiness and homelessness. It questions traditional norms of what it means to be happy by following Nathan's journey to replace his dying piano, while shedding light on his path into homelessness. The doc aims to highlight the homeless community as more than that label, but rather as whole individuals by sharing one man's struggle to find happiness as an outcast. WHERE YOUR MONEY WILL GO: First and foremost, towards Nathan's new piano! He will choose his piano based on the funds we raise, along with the tips he makes busking on the Venice Boardwalk. And you better believe he has high standards! If any funds remain, they will be put to use to re-fund the production costs of telling his story and sharing it with the world.

DEADLINES: Since this is a time-sensitive issue, we are hoping to raise the necessary funds within the next few weeks.

THE BIG PICTURE: Any help will be tremendous for Nathan and to the cause at large. We firmly believe that if this film reaches the right audiences, it will help bring inclusion and diversity into the forefront of public and artistic discourse. Please help us ensure it has a happy ending in which Nathan obtains a new piano and a new home.

If you're still reading, that means you care, so again- THANK YOU FOR CARING!
If your thoughtfulness brings you to donate to our cause, we will be eternally grateful and one step closer to finding a new home for Nathan.
If you would like to help but cannot afford to donate, please spread the word so that we can do the same for Nathan.

Once more, thank you
