Give Her 16

Donation protected

Imagine 16 for a moment. Remember your excitement to drive alone for the first time, and the freedom you finally feel. Some of your fondest memories of high school were made that year. Friends, freedom, football games, that cute kid in class... your greatest struggle was what to do on a Friday night. It was blissful, carefree and magical. It was made of exactly what it should be......

Now think of a girl named Morgan Hamby, "Mo." Three days before she turned 16, she was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer. The normal life of an almost 16 year old girl was changed overnight. Only after enduring surgery 5 days before Christmas, does the magnitude of the situation begin to set in. The hope of Christmas and the opportunity for renewal in a new year are marred by uncertainty. The phone rings, a short conversation changes a year, a lifetime. The cancer has begun to spread. Although surgery was successful, chemo is the only way to kill the violent disease. Suddenly, that normal 16th year became a nightmare she can't wake from. Over the course of the next several months she will endure several treatments each lasting 3 days. In order to live, she must fight. She must fight for her life through pain, nausea and the loss of her hair.

Imagine being 16, sick, losing your hair and fighting for your life. This isn't your 16. Mo and her family need our help. Let's help her find peace and comfort in the midst of all of this. Let's help give her 16. Insurance will cover her treatments, but she wants... she needs hair. Wigs are pricey. She wants... she needs her family close so she can go to battle with this disease. Gas, hotel space and food are all expenses that her family are going to need to cover.

Morgan Hamby and her family have given endlessly to others and our community. Whether it has been their tireless efforts for the Special Olympics, working daily with the special needs students in our town or a neighbor in need. They have given. They have loved. They have prayed for each of us. It's time to rally around them. Give. Pray. Love. Your support will mean the world to one 16 year old girl. Any contributions more than what they need will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House to help others. The donations will be received by Randa Hill (Morgans Mother).
