We are so overwhelmed with all the friends that have reached out once they heard through the grapevine something was wrong. We appreciate all the prayers and offers to help on what ever we need.
In May, my dad, Mike Pullman, was diagnosed with AML (leukemia). It is an aggressive form that will require a bone marrow transplant. He just finished a 5 day round of Chemotherapy in June and then he took some experimental chemotherapy drug for 10 days. 30 days later, we now know that this first round of this process worked. The next steps include repeating this process once again to make sure everything is gone and ready to go for the transplant process.
God willing, all will be good and by September he will be able to get the Bone Marrow transplant needed to beat this sucker. However, it does not end there. He will have to stay in Seattle for 5 months to be close to the hospital just in case something goes wrong. Then, from there, he will have little to no immune system for a year. This is a very expensive process that the insurance will only pay a portion of.
Cancer is one of those things that has been all too common lately and has touched too many lives of the ones we care about. My dad has been fighting since he was first diagnosed over 10 years ago now and has never done something like a Go-Fund-Me before. It took a lot of convincing to even get to this point to let us do this for him and his wife.
My father has always been a self-sufficient, strong-willed person that has done many selfless things for others just because he knew he was able to help even when no one else was. Now, a grandfather, father, and husband, he is not about to stop fighting and with your help they can try to make ends meet instead of drowning in the medical bills.
