Giving for my Dad's life and death

Donation protected
My Dad, Greg, was recently diagnosed with terminal stage IV cancer in his lungs, liver, spine and brain. It's a total of almost 30 tumors. The doctors tell us it's not curable and all treatment right now is simply palliative, to improve his quality of life, until chemotherapy and radiation no longer help. Due to the aggressive, advanced spread of the disease we can place his total life expectancy somewhere around 3-6 months.

We need your help. My father is my best friend, and I need to be with him during the short amount of time he has left. Realistically speaking, the 20+ tumors in his brain mean memory loss, balance issues, possible seizures, etc. He will eventually need someone with him most of the time and right now that someone is me. We cannot rely on hospice until he has completed all treatment, which right now is working and we need to continue doing it.

However, I am NOT working right now, which is part of the problem. And neither is he. We need gas money, medication money, incidentals money. None of the money donated is going to be used for fun times out in town, I promise you. But there's some stuff we already need we can't afford and that's something that's just going to get worse. We both own cars that are about to give up the ghost, so partly we're asking for money for that reason as well. I guarantee both cars are going to die at the worst possible time. If we don't have reliable transportation, getting Dad to treatment gets dicier.

Unfortunately, a few years ago Dad developed a couple illnesses (epilepsy, emphysema) that kept him from qualifying for immediate life insurance, so the policy we have is not going to pay out. We also need money for final expenses. He wants to be cremated and it won't be that expensive, but we need some donations towards that as well.

Dad would like to leave a gift behind to his children as well. If there is anything left in the fund when he passes we'd like to make sure my brother and sister, Mike and Ali, have a nice gift to remember him by and put towards their future.

Finally, this site takes a pretty hefty 9% of all donations for fees and whatnot, so if you'd rather send gifts directly to us my PayPal is a great alternative.

I think that's it. I hate to ask for help, but we really need it right now. Thanks so much everybody, we love you!
