Next season marks the 10th anniversary of the 910 Gladstone Avenue renovation and reopening as The Gladstone Theatre.
To celebrate this milestone, we're planning some facility upgrades that will ensure the 25,000 patrons who visit the theatre each year can all have a safe, accessible, and comfortable experience.
Our improvement projects include lighted stairs (or stair lighting) to better see the stairs in the dark and handrails for the theatre aisles.
We also want to address a comfort problem that regulars of the Gladstone theatre have known since the early 80's. That problem is climate control in the theatre.
The culprit is a high ceiling and poor airflow: heat generated by the audience and the hot theatre lights raises to the ceiling, creating two distinct climates in the theatre.
Installing large ceiling fans above the audience will improve air circulation and help our exisiting heating and cooling system maintain a steady temperature, ensuring a comfortable audience experience!
With your help, we can have the handrails, the stair lighting, and the fans installed before the end of this Gladstone season, and we can start our 10th year as Ottawa's busiest theatre in style.
Donate today, and see your donation at work when you visit the theatre.photo: Haiku H-Series 84" Fan by Big Ass Fans
