Chest Nerve Reconstruction for Glenn Preston
Donation protected
Glenn Preston is a Boston Fire Lieutenant who has been fighting fires for 19 years. Now he’s in a fight for his life. He, like too many firefighters, has been diagnosed with occupational cancer from his years of battling flames and helping others. His journey has been difficult and heartbreaking.
After countless serious surgeries, several rounds of chemo, and radiation, the father of four is now in need of a surgery in New Jersey. He continues to do cycles of post-transplant infusions both monthly and quarterly. This upcoming surgery is for nerve reconstruction and nerve transplants in his chest, due to the damage caused by the first tumor. Glenn's last scan was clean but doctors haven't declared he's in remission because he's had his cancer return before. They know he still has a fight ahead.
The city of Boston, the Boston fire department, and many other friends and family have been very helpful.
This latest surgery will require Glenn to stay in the area so he’s available for follow up visits, all while trying to get caught up on bills and most importantly keeping his children busy and distracted as they go through this again.
While Glenn’s family tries to maintain a normal life while he’s in the hospital, they all know it will be a new challenge in this long battle. We hope you can help Glenn and his family after so many years of helping others.
