Goertz Family Home Lost In Flood

This was our dream property, and we lived here for 10 years with no issues. The property survived the Sand Fire in July of 2016, and we were very grateful. We thought the worst was behind us, until the rains came. We had some minor flooding right before Christmas, and recovered. This time, there was no recovery. At approximately 1:00 pm on Friday, January 20th, my mom told us that she heard water flowing. We went outside to see how things were holding up, and all was well for... about 10 minutes. Then, from back in the canyon, came a wall of water 30' wide, and approx. 10' tall. There was nothing we could do, but get to higher ground. When we saw the wall of water, boulders, and debris crash through the patio door, we knew there was not going to be anything we could do to save the property. We are currently looking for a place to rent in the mean time, and hope we can be reunited with our 2 dogs and 3 cats in the near future. Fortunately, no one was injured, and property can be replaced. Our family is still intact, and that is all that matters. Thank you all for your generosity.
