Gophers to DC - March 4 Our Lives
Donation protected
Help send University of Minnesota students to the March for Our Lives in Washington DC.
The student survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida are organizing the March for Our Lives in Washington DC on March 24th, 2018. The students are issuing a compelling and inspiring call to action. We want to stand in solidarity and join them in their efforts to end gun violence.
As students, we are all too familiar with the common downplaying of the voices of young people. Something feels different this time. The students organizing this march have an important story to tell that should serve as motivation to us all to stand up and get involved. That's what we intend to do. It's important for students to stand with other students. It amplifies our collective voice and in times like these, we need to be lifting each other up.
All donations will help cover the cost of transportation to and from the march (we plan on using charter buses, similar to the organizers of the Women's March). Any extra donations will be used to offset the cost of meals/snacks and any other costs associated with traveling. As students who are balancing the increasing costs associated with higher education, we sincerely appreciate the support.
If you'd like to make any non-monetary donations or have advice/tips/other resources to share, feel free to email us at: [email redacted]
