Sara Balaker Cancer Recovery Fund

This GoFundMe is for Sara (Wozney) Balaker's battle with cancer.  Sara is a beautiful 39 year old nurse, mother of 8 month old Jozie and wife of Jerry.    She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer around December 10th 2015.  The money will help Sara and Jerry make house payments, pay for medical bills and pay for essentials, like food and utilities as Sara goes through her battle with cancer.   The Balakers  thank you in advance for your generosity through this difficult time in their lives. 

A few months after Jozie's birth (April 27, 2015), Sara started noticing back pain that she attributed to motherhood. In July Sara started seeing a chiropractor to ease the pain in her back. The chiropractor sessions did not provide any relief. The pain in her back was constant but some days were better than others. At the end of November, Sara noticed numbing in her right toes. That is when Sara thought that her back problem was a herniated disc. She then made an appointment to see an orthopedic spine specialist. After meeting with the orthopedic doctor, an MRI was ordered for the next day. From the symptoms that Sara was having, the orthopedic doctor also presumed it was a herniated disc. The results of the MRI showed a tumor on her L5 vertebrae. It also showed extensive damage to her lower spine and sacrum.

For the next 5 days, Sara had every test imaginable. The results of these tests revealed stage 4 breast cancer that had spread to other areas of her body including her bones and liver.
