Grama & 5 Kids Need New Home by Oct

Your small donation can help these 5 kids and their grama get a new home- we only need $6,700!

In 2012, my aunt, who lived in Oklahoma, found out 5 of her grandchildren went into foster care. As a devastated grandmother, she couldn't just let them be split up, so she left her happy life in OK to come to NY and get custody.

For 9 months she fought NY laws to establish residency and get rights from the parents to raise them and take them back to OK. She used all of her retirement savings to take care of them during that time, as 2 of them were under 3 years old. Finally, in April 2013 she was given full custody of all 5 kids.

Since then life has not been easy. She wasn't able to keep her job since the kids needed many doctor and therapy visits. She had multiple appointments every week which was a struggle on gas, finances, etc. Then, she and her fiance broke up and she was alone raising the kids.

But she has found God, she goes to church and volunteers with the kids when she can. She works online doing small tasks, social media, etc, and juggles the kids' homeschooling because they constantly had trouble with public school, due to their emotional states.

She donates plasma to help pay for a small trailer and land when she runs out of work because it comes and goes. She's tried to find other work but the doctors remind her that the kids have severe trust issues that make finding a babysitter extremely difficult if possible at all.

The trailer is very run down, as you can imagine, she couldn't afford much and only paid a few hundred for it.

There are taped up windows, run down appliances, old carpets, broken plumbing, etc. And it is only 2 bedrooms - meaning she sleeps in a recliner (given to her) in the living room.

The family has tried to help over the years, but it isn't always able to send money consistently. And meanwhile, she's great. She helps her kids out, helps out family, donates extra food when she can, helps others when they need sitters, need to move, etc.

And then this summer, something amazing happened, someone contacted her and said she could HAVE a double wide home if she could get it moved. All she had to do was come up with a way to get it done. Of course, then she was told that the mover has to be bonded, which would significantly increase the costs to over $6,000.

Now, the owners want the house moved to her land by the end of October or she loses it.

These kids haven't had much, but a new home would really help give them all some personal space, especially grandma who hasn't had a bed in several years because she has no place to put it.

We'd love to help them raise money to get this home moved. They would have an additional bathroom (6 people using 1 bathroom is rough, especially when the plumbing is so old there are constant issues, additional bedroom, much larger living room, a school area, and more space.

So if you can donate, we'd all appreciate it. I'll keep you all updated and share photos if we can get the funds to move the house.

Every donation helps, if you have $5 to spare, it adds up super quick. IT MATTERS!
