Grandma Great's blankets for babies
Donation protected
My grandma is 95 1/2 years old. My grandma sews baby blankets. Hundreds.... thousands of blankets at this point. I took the first batch with me to Kenya in 2010 on a medical mission. We used the blankets to help rural medical clinics and community health workers with new mothers and babies. I showed my grandma videos and pictures of the women receiving the blankets. Told her about how they were being used and she has been diligent in her service to the mamas and babies of rural Kenya ever since. I'm not sure if she is aware of her amazing legacy of service, but I will be forever grateful for her example.
The director of the foundation that we send them thru recently wrote, "Thank you for all you and your family have contributed. You have made a difference in the lives of many women and their children. The physical comfort and protection of the blanket also extends to the receiver a sense of caring and love from afar- a sense if being valued. What a gift!!!!!
Teresa"
Grandma has been buying fabric for thousands of blankets with money from her own pocket. Any extra funds to help her buy fabric so she is able to continuing sewing and sending these blankets around the world would be greatly appreciated.
