Grant's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
11/12/16- Grant was team building with his Georgia Tech fraternity when he fell off the shoulders of one of his brothers and landed on his neck. He was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. It was there he was immediately admitted into the Trauma center. Grant suffered a broken vertebrae in his neck which damaged his spinal cord leaving him partially paralyzed.
At 10:30pm he was taken into surgery to alleviate compression of his spinal cord and stabilize his vertebrae. He received care from one of the top teams of Emory neurosurgeons. The surgery was completed at 4:30 am and was very successful.
Although Grant is still partially paralyzed, we are praying that there is no permanent damage to his spinal cord and that he will regain full use of his arms and legs.
Grant has a long road in front of him and a lot of therapy. The plan is for him to enter the Shepherd Center in Atlanta for rehabilitation.
