Paris Gay Games Bound Gray Ducks
Donation protected
The Minnesota Gray Ducks are deploying a LGBT and Allied team to compete in the Paris Gay Games. We hope to connect with the community to raise monies to subsidize uniform and travel costs for the team heading to the Paris Gay Games.
The opportunity to represent Minnesota, and the US in the games is an honor. The gay games occur once every four years in a new bid city. Many on the team and in our club have worked hard these past 4 years to have this opportunity. Some players have returned to the game after years away from it, often due to the poor climate for LGBT persons in sport during their youth. To play soccer as an adult, and in competition of this nature is a dream come true. In 2016, we played in the Division 2 Championship of the Gay World Cup, under the lights of Providence Park (The Timber's MLS stadium) in Portland. We came up a goal short in overtime against Vancouver, but it was a thrill to play in and for many family and friends who watched via livestream.
