WE'VE DONE IT!!
WE HAVE CLOSED OUR CROWDFUND AS WE HAVE NOW BOUGHT THE LAND. WE WILL BE IN TOUCH ABOUT OUR CROWDFUNDERS DAY ON THE FARM NEXT YEAR.
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HAS SUPPORTED US! FROM PHIL, STEVE, AND EVERYONE AT HOOK AND SON.
Last year's crowdfund we ran as you may know, even with the terrific support it received, didn't quite get over the line. The farm we were hoping to buy fell through. However, we are still desperate to replace the land we are losing to housing, and quite amazingly, grazing land on the Pevesey Levels next door to us has come onto the market. The guide price is £350,000 and whatever we can crowdfund towards it will help massively in our attempt to try and buy it. So here we go again! The map shows in red the land that we are losing. with the remaining part of Longleys Farm in green. The land that has come onto the market is known as 'The Fosters' and is shown as blue. You can see it would be perfect to help replace the land we are losing, especially as the access to it is through our land.
If we can buy The Fosters fields, it will mean that we can continue farming and keep all our cows, and continue to supply all our customers with their raw milk, cream, butter and yoghurt. If we fail to replace the grazing fields shown in red, then we will have to keep about 40 fewer cows, our milk production will be nearly halved, which not only means we won't be able to supply all our current customers, it really questions the viability of our raw milk farm! So anything that you can give to help us to buy the land would be fantastic. To say a big thankyou to you for supporting our campaign and helping save our farm and cows, you will be invited to our crowdfunders day on the farm, with tractor and trailer rides and BBQ in our fields on the beautiful Pevensey Levels, and see our cows grazing the land that you helped to buy!
