My Midlife Crisis

I am here today to ask you to fund my Mid-Life Crisis. "HA!" you say. "This guy!" Well, it's true.
Here is the story: I need a new motorcycle. Well, ok, "need" might be too strong a word. I would really, really like a new motorcycle. But I have been told "NO." By the boss. My wife. She says, "You already have 2 motorcycles!" and "We don't have ROOM for another motorcycle." I counter with "Aw, man, no fair!" and "Pretty please???" and "You're not the boss of me!" But she keeps dishing out this "logic" and "reason". Like we need to finish our kitchen remodel. And what about the kid's education.
Truth is, she is right. I can't deny it.
So here I am. After exploring all the other options (prostitution, winning the powerball....basically everything I could think of...) I have decided to throw myself at the collective feets of the internets.
"Why" you ask, "does this guy want another motorcycle. And why should I even care?"
Good questions. Let's take them one at a time.
I want another motorcycle to compliment my stable. See, recently I have been introduced to the wonder that is:
THE MOTORCYCLE TRACK DAY!!!
And while I have successfully piloted my current bike at the track, it is:
a. Heavy. Really. It is. Like 550 lbs.
b. Underpowered. Ok, actually, the power is fine. But is is soooo heavy....see "a."
c. Old. Or, shall we say, "vintage." The motorcycle in question is a 1983 Suzuki GS1100ES: http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/classic-japanese-motorcycles/suzuki-gs1100e.aspx
A fine machine, in its day, and still a great bike. But on the track, she is a bit, eh, portly compared to all the Ducatis and GSXR's and CBRR's and, and, and.
d. Difficult to find parts for. Should I, God Forbid, crash the thing.
e. Probably some other stuff I'm missing.
For these reasons, the Suzuki is just not the BEST option for the track. Now why, you might ask, don't you just SELL the GS and get something more suitable? BECAUSE I LOVE HER AND SHE IS NOT FOR SALE. So that settles that.
The particular bike I am looking at is the Suzuki SV650 Light, not too powerful, but plenty of low and midrange torque. Forgiving. Versatile. Readily available and inexpensive. In short, a perfect first track bike.
Now for the second question: "Why should I care?"
Um, you shouldn't. Not really. I mean, this is a "first world problem" if ever there was one.
But....
Maybe, JUST MAYBE, some of you believe in things like FREEDOM. And HAVING FUN. AND AMERICA!!!!
And maybe there are enough of you out there who will say, "Ya know, what the heck. I'll give this poor dumb bastard a couplea bucks." And slowly, the trickle will become a small rivulet. Cause that is all I really need here; a teensy little bit of capital. Not even a creek. Heck, a small ditch of cash will do it. So think about it. And I will see you at the track!
