Alliance Française de la Grenade is representing Grenada at the 30th edition of the International Festival of Geography (le Festival International de Géographie – FIG) https://www.fig.saint-die-des-vosges.fr/ in October 2019, in Saint-Dié-Des-Vosges, France.
The International Festival of Geography uses geography as an educational tool for cultural exchange. This year’s theme is ‘Migrations’ with a focus on the Caribbean.
Alliance Française de la Grenade, a local non-profit, has been promoting French culture in Grenada for 65 years. This is a first occasion for us to promote Grenada culture in a French educational context, and to engage students from Saint-Dié about Grenada.
From the festival we will host online French languages classes (via Facebook/You Tube) for schoolchildren in Grenada, and talk about the French influence in Grenada, 370 years after the founding of Grenada’s first French settlement in Saint George.
During the festival we shall
• Showcase videos and literature about Grenada
• Present on Grenada’s French heritage to Saint-Die students
• Produce online classes for Grenadian French-language students
• Sample Grenadian foods; cooking demonstration
The team leaves Grenada on 27 September. Please help us get there.
