Grove of Nova Scotia Druids Land Acquisition Program
Purpose
The Grove of Nova Scotia Druids has set a goal of acquiring land in their name for the purpose of a variety of projects over the coming years. We hope as an organization to be able to provide the local pagan community of Nova Scotia and the Maritimes as a whole a location to fulfill a variety of purposes.
Festival
The Grove hopes to provide the Maritime community with a location for future large scale events such festivals, workshops and community events. We hope some point in the future to even be able to provide the community with a festival with a new home.
The location of this land will highly determine the validity of smaller events, but larger events should be easily accommodated.
Location of Worship
The Grove of Nova Scotia Druids hopes in the long term to build and facilitate a place of worship for the maritime pagan community. We wish this place of worship to be all inclusive to all peaceful paths in Nova Scotia and the Maritimes inclusive. From either an outdoor location or a sheltered location to even a permanent structure we hope to provide all pagans of all paths a open and welcoming space.
Achieving These Goals
The Grove of Nova Scotia Druids hopes to achieve the goal of a land purchase through a variety of means over the coming years. We realize this is a massive undertaking and may take years to achieve but with perseverance and dedication it is a goal we feel we can make come to fruition.
GoFundme Page
The goal of this page will be to solicit donations from across the world towards our goal. We hope the page will have a wide spread and allow us to collect donations from other interested individuals and organizations that may not be able to partake in our other fund raising efforts.
Festival Merchandise Table
At the upcoming 2016 AEGIS Festival the Grove of Nova Scotia Druids will set up a merchandise table covering a variety of crafts we as a grove create. This will not be a large fund raiser but a fund raiser we can continue at other events over the year.
Government Grant Programs
Dan Negus has taken charge of looking into a variety of government grant programs for land purchase and Community organizations. We need to receive Non Profit Status first and foremost.
Raffle and Lottery Drives
We are looking into holding a variety of raffles and lottery events at local events. Chase the ace is very popular here in Nova Scotia at the moment and we will look into connecting with a group where we can host such an event.
Maintaining the land and Tax payment
One of the larger issues to tackle of the course of this project will be long term maintenance and paying property taxes year to year. Depending on the property purchased and the size the taxes and maintenance will differ drastically.
Air BnB
After the land is purchased and if it comes with a significant amount of land or a permanent structure we could maintain taxes and maintenance with allowing the land to be rented and used over the summer months. End Results
We hope as a grove that this will be a welcome opportunity that the larger pagan community will embrace and accept. We hope to have this land in title under the name of the grove but to keep it open to any one who follows a pagan path.
