Grow A Community Children’s Studio
Donation protected
I am a veteran teacher who grew up learning craft skills and the arts from my grandmother, mother and aunts. My family took yearly camping trips throughout California-hiking, exploring and discovering- all of this has helped shape who I am as a teacher and an artist.
I have dreamed of creating a space for children to be together to learn the arts, yoga, mindfulness and storytelling. Not everyone gets a chance to learn unique skills from an elder, and I look forward to offering experiences which will foster children’s love for life, a curiosity and satisfaction in how things are created and a deep connection with nature and community.
This campaign is to help with the start-up costs of beginning our community’s children’s studio. The money you donate will go towards supplies, furniture, the first month’s rent, website start-up and getting the word out.
The Grateful Dandelion Atelier will have many kick-off events throughout August 2018. Daily classes start September 2018. At the Grateful Dandelion Atelier children can learn painting, art journaling, mindfulness, yoga, storytelling, culture studies, fibre arts, drawing and mixed media. Monthly Parent’s-Night-Out events will also be offered.
I hope to support working parents, stay-at-home parents and homeschooling parents who would like their children to have rich artistic experiences and who want to balance family connection and self-care time.
I feel so lucky to have been “raised” by so many artist, teachers and family members who have shared their talents and passions with me. I look forward to giving back to the community and our next generations, in hopes that these young people will pass on their abundant talents and skills to further generations of children. Thank you so much for your help in fulfilling this dream!
