Grow Well Farms - Veteran Farmers!
Donation protected
Veteran-owned, Grow Well Farms is a small Illinois business dedicated to training military veterans to become farmers. Among other crops, vets will learn to grow organic microgreens, as well as marketing the product to the Chicago area restaurants, grocery stores, and individuals.
The company's mission is to grow healthy people through food, education and jobs, with a specific emphasis on training veterans returning from service.
Inspired by the article "A Battle Worth Fighting" and the 2014 film "Ground Operations: Battlefields to Farmfields," the owner Cheryl Besenjak was called to join the agricultural movement transitioning veterans into farming and strengthening our nation's food security. According to the United States Department of Agriculture, America needs one million farmers over the next 10 years to replace the farmers who are aging out.
In order to continue operating, Grow Well Farms needs our help!!
With just a small amount of capital we will be able to extend the operations of the business and allow a dedicated team from the Loyola Executive MBA program to volunteer and work with Grow Well Farms to develop a complete business plan that will provide a clear strategy to gain a portion of the Chicago microgreens market while promoting the success of veterans.
Any and all of your donations to help in the continued efforts of the business to bring nutrient rich microgreens to our community is greatly appreciated!!
