My father Skip was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (GBM) an aggressive form of brain cancer in May 2014. He has undergone the standard protocols of treatment for his “dragon” (the name he has given the tumor that is now accompanying him through life). Those treatments have stopped working and he is now undergoing a clinical trial to hopefully help achieve two important tasks with whatever time the “dragon” will grant him. The first task being able to spend as much time with his grand babies as possible, as well as his family and friends, and the second task being to aid in the advancement of knowledge and treatment for GBM. Along with his passion for family, Skip is passionate about music both listening and playing and his charity work with "The Lake City Western Vigilantes". Skip is a man with a huge heart and a warm smile for everyone. This diagnosis has an average survival of 18 months, we just don't think that is enough time! Participating in this clinical trial will mean frequent travel to Duke University for him and a companion (where the research is conducted) from Washington state, and all the expenses that will incur. If you would like more information about Skip and his fight, please check out his blog:
