Vex World Competitions 4/28, 4/29, 4/30
Meet the Guion Creek Investigators. They are an energetic group of fifth graders with a strong work ethic and love for robotics. This group has worked their gator tails off to really excel in the world of Robotics. After placing 2nd in their first competition, the team reflected and used new strategies for their next competition in Brazil, Indiana. Here they placed 1st in the Teamwork Challenge. This gave them the bid they needed to go to the State Competition. At State Finals they ranked 11th out of 72 teams. Most proudly, they were recognized with the Jack Klein Award, an award given to the team that shows growth, sportsmanship, and a true love for robotics.
Our team has been given a bid to go to the 3 day VEX World Competition in Louisville, Kentucky due to their performance in both driving and programming skills. They will be competing with teams from all over the world. Please consider donating to this ambitious group. Donations will be used to help purchase new motors and materials needed for the robot, pay entrance fees, provide lunches during the long days, support families with overnight and travel expenses, and help provide these students with a once in a lifetime experience.
If there are any extra funds at the completion of the 18-19 World Championship, those funds will be used for equipment and future competitions for the robotics team.
Thank you you so much for supporting us!
