Good morning,
My name is Carmen E. Maldonado Colón. I am a 100% disabled veteran and also I am medically retired from Department of the Army Civil Services. My current situation follows:
We resided in Puerto Rico, after Hurricane María and because of the Humanitarian Crisis in the Island (no power, limited portable water, leptospirosis disease, school interruption,etc.) my family has been lacking of essential services, including my childrens education, health services etc.I have a 14 year old son with me, and I have two more kids in Puerto Rico, 19 and 18, that I need to bring ASAP to the VA. The reason we chose Virginia is because my last HHQ was in Ft. Eustis and I have friends that are service members giving us a helping hand (a place to stay for a limited time).
Please consider donating for my family with assistance with down payments for an Apartment/living space, winter clothes for my children, power and essential utilities and any other assistance I can receive
At this time I am reaching out to anyone that can provide me with help for our family after this catastrophic event that has severally affected me and my children, financial assistance since I do have income but I don't have enough funds to provide my family with there needs.
This event has affected the entire way of living, any hope of a quick recovery in Puerto Rico is non existent, I am desperate, this is an Emergency situation for us, we have made decisions to better our quality of life, but we can't do it alone.
