Many Farms School Fundraiser

I've been living in Many Farms, AZ now for the last month, and already the people here have touched and changed my life. I cannot count the times the staff and students have given their time, resources, and even leftover furniture to me when I was in need. If they have taught me anything, it is the importance of community and not just belonging to a group, but contributing. That's why I want to raise some big bucks to help my new friends at MFCS.
Many Farms Community School is in need of donations for an upcoming event to raise money for their school.
MFCS is a grant school -- much of what they need, they cannot directly obtain. Most students have free and reduced lunches. Many come to school without backpacks or supplies, and 78 students live in residential living during the week on campus in order to attend school due to isolated living, family issues, personal preference, etc. (Let me be very clear when I say my students aren't all "poor" and aren't all struggling: these statistics exist in any school. I simply am here now and want to leave something for all of them to be reminded how important it is for them to be in school and that they are cared for).  Rather than asking directly for monetary donations to the school where I've been working, I want to collect donations from you wonderful people to buy goods that local members of the community can use, such as cooking and cleaning items, bales of hay, coal, gift cards to the local grocer, etc. All proceeds will benefit the students, staff, and parents of Many Farms Community School. With the items purchased for and given out to these families, the school will be able to successfully host an event that will in turn raise funds to buy supplies, aide in giving my students more opportunities, and give to those families in this community who already give so much to their tribe and to outsiders like me. Please consider even a small donation to help my kiddos!
