IT Girls Webseries- "Shutting Down the Patriarchy"
Donation protected
We're making a web series! And we still need your need your help! Thank you so much to everyone who donated in December. We were able to shoot and start editing the first two episodes!
What's it about?
Two best friends, Zo and Amira, work together in the IT department of a internet music company where they shut down mansplaining, plan elaborate heists to get leftover catering, and of course, solve the world's IT problems.
After hours, they play in their Riot Grrl- esque punk band, The Kernel Panics, which features songs about feminism and tech, such as "Mansplainer" and "Blue Screen of Death".
IT Girls is created by Jess McLaughlan, along with her talented female writing team: Danielle Muehlen, Sam Curry, Caroline Ulwick and Leah Roth. The production team includes director Maureen Khul, director of photography Julian Franco, and production coordinator Dia Griffiths. Our talented cast includes Najia Hamid, Ann Dang, Kaila Galinat, Timothy Park, Kendall Cafaro, Angelina Wise, Paddy O'Sullivan, Sharyn Hahn, Chrissy Rose and Jay Troop, thus far;)
With the money we raise, we plan to continue producing the other 6 episodes of our 8 episode season. Your money will go to helping us rent the equipment, bring on the talent and crew, secure locations and transportation and create the zany world of IT Girls. Once the series is complete we will submit our creation to as many women's/tech film and web series festivals as we can in the hopes to get actual distribution so you and the rest of the world can see what we've been working on!
