Half Marathon for Equal Arts

I'm trying to raise a few bob for Equal Arts so that we can do more nice things for older people.

Based in the North East but spread across the country Equal Arts are an organisation that raise funds for and manage quality arts projects which take place mainly in care settings and within the community. They believe that offering opportunities to be creative is important as people grow older and having spent lots of time in care homes lately I have seen first hand how the arts can promote wellbeing and happiness. We try to find ways to create a space for people living with Dementia to express themselves imaginitively, this can involve anything from singing, movement, arts, crafts, inter-generational work, textiles, sensory work, poetry, creative story telling, character work and sometimes just having a chat over a cuppa.

So, as September marks the end of my first official year as an Associate Artist I thought what better way to celebrate than a little jog to South Shields!
