Help Me Make Handmade Chairs
Donation protected
Hi there. I've been learning how to make handmade Windsor chairs for the past couple of years from a dear friend and talented Windsor chairmaker. After making a handful of chairs under his tutelage, I feel ready to break out and start making them on my own. I've already invested the time and money needed to get started on my own workbench and shaving horse. However, I still need to amass and invest in a few essential tools to really get the ball rolling.
It is not an insignificant investment to buy these chairmaking tools, but I'm ready to take the next step. Can you help support my dream of making handmade Windsor chairs and growing a small cottage business?
I'm a big proponent of traditional woodwork and crafts livelihood, and I take pride in my work, especially learning new skills and sharing what I already know with others. Being able to start my own chairmaking shop will advance the woodworking skills I've been building up over the past couple of years, and will hopefully help support me as I grow a small cottage business.
With the funds that I raise, I will be able to purchase a small set of specific chairmaking hand tools like a reamer, scorp, travisher, and tenon cutters. With any funds that may be left over, I can get a little bit of wood purchased to begin making my first chair or two.
Thanks for considering to help me to start my own chairmaking toolkit and venture!
