Hannea’s Philadelphia Surgery

Donation protected
At age 7 Hannea was diagnosed with the rare disease Parsonage Turner Syndrome after sudden onset paralysis of her right arm. After visiting many Doctors in New York, Hannea was seen by Dr. Kozin at the Shriner’s Hospital in Philadelphia. Throughout the years Hannea continued to see Dr. Kozin for treatment and monitoring of her right arm. On June 6, 2018 Dr. Kozin came up with a surgical plan involving another team as well. On August 9, 2018 at the Philadelphia Shriner’s Hospital they will reconnect Hannea’s arm to her shoulder using plates and screws. They will then cut along her right side and take some of her Latissimus Dorsi muscle and place it in her arm. By doing this, Hannea will regain a significant amount of use of her arm. She will be inpatient during her surgical recovery and outpatient during her therapy there. Right now, we are expected to be in Philly for at least two weeks.

We have had such amazing support from our communities, friends, and family throughout this journey over the last nine years, we are forever thankful. #teamhannea
