Happier Place for Kids with cancer

Hi , (follows in Spanish further below)
I am Suzana,  called Suzi by friends and family. I am Swedish-Croatian, living in Madrid, with my 2 daughters and my Spanish husband. I am determined to help Children with Cancer overcome their emotional challenges through creating a more positive  hospital environment, one that stimulates good vibes and happiness for them.

This has personal meaning to me as my dear friend Marisa´s 9 year old daughter, Cris,  suffer Medulloblastoma,  the most common type of pediatric  brain tumour. Cris is naturally joyful and my wish for her and other children is that this “childlike” joy is maintained and nurtured in the midst of hospital visits, medical appointments and treatments. There is increasing research that shows that nurturing positive emotions and a recovery mind-set is instrumental in the journey to good health.

I am raising  money as a participant in the Madrid Triathlon on May 27. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to dive back into my passion for intense sports. I remember ,  just 6 years ago,  my own serious health incident that prevented me from doing what I love; run, swim and cycle. It took a toll on my own positive emotions, thus I know the importance for uplifting the positive mind-set for faster recovery

Please show your support for Cris and other children like her, by sponsoring me in my triathlon, with 1-5€ per km completed. I plan to complete all 26 km ;-).  However I am grateful for any contributions.

Un SITIO FELIZ para Niños con Cáncer

Hola:
Soy Suzana, aunque mis amigos y familia me llaman Suzi. Soy sueca, de padres croatas y vivo en Madrid con mis dos hijas y mi marido español. Estoy decidida a ayudar a los niños con cáncer, para superar su desafío emocional, creando ambientes sanitarios más positivos, que estimulen y aumenten su felicidad.

Esto tiene un significado especial para mi.  Mi querida amiga Marisa, tiene a su hija Cris de 9 años sufriendo de meduloblastoma, el tipo de tumor infantil intracraneal más común. Cris es una niña con una alegría natural y mi deseo, para ella y otros niños, es que esta alegría "serena e infantil" se mantenga y se nutra durante las visitas al hospital, las citas médicas y los tratamientos. Hay numerosas investigaciones que demuestran que alimentar emociones positivas y mantener una mente optimista es el camino idóneo para lograr la recuperación.

Mi objetivo solidario es recaudar dinero, participando en el Triatlón de Madrid del día 27 de Mayo. Para mí es una oportunidad maravillosa sumergirme de nuevo en la pasión por los deportes intensos. Recuerdo , hace ya 6 años, una seria incidencia en mi propia salud, que me impidió hacer lo que de verdad deseo: correr, nadar y montar en bici. Pero ello pasó factura a mi optimismo. Por lo tanto, entiendo la importancia de elevar la actitud positiva para conseguir una rápida recuperación.


Por favor, demostrad vuestro apoyo a Cris y otros niños como ella, patrocinando mi carrera de Triatlón. Solo os pido de 1 a 5€ por cada KM terminado. Mi plan es completar los 26 km ;-). De todas formas, estaré agradecida ante cualquier contribución, por pequeña que sea.
