Harleen to the World Championships
Donation protected
I'm Harleen Kaur, aged 17 and the WMKF World Champion Silver Medallist (World Martial Kombat Federation) and a martial arts competitor, training for nearly 10 years. I am a 2nd Dan Black belt in Karate; currently training in a combined programme of karate and kickboxing. Furthermore, I represents the country being part of the WMKF England team. I started competing almost 4 years ago in various tournaments those being Taekwondo Opens, WMKF and UK All Styles competitions, coming away with many titles. Also, I am an ambassador for the Asian Sports Foundation and recently won the Asian Women of Achievement award in Sport.
Training preparations have already begun and I am very excited and honoured that I have the opportunity to perform on a World stage among top Martial Art athletes from around the World, with the potential of placing on an international podium. Earlier this year in May, I qualified to represent England again this year at the WMKF World Championships taking place in Malta in November.
Unfortunately, athletes in the sport of Martial Arts have to ‘self-fund’ any trips locally, nationally or internationally, which can prove to be very costly for parents and families involved. Costs have to be covered personally to take care of the of travel, accommodation, competition fees, equipment, uniforms, tracksuits and additional training fees as well as tournament registration costs. The money donated will help cover all these costs and I will be extremely grateful for all donations, any sort of funding will be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone! x
