My beautiful 31 year old niece was diagnosed with an agressive form of brain cancer in January 2012, within a month after the birth of her first child. Her tumour is a deadly Gioblastoma Multiforme and the average life span after diagnosis is 9 months. She has fought this devastating tumour with grace, humour and determination but 2 years and 11 months later her health is deteriorating. Her husband has been researching and working overtime to pay the bills, but finally he is needed at home to look after his wife and young son. He has taken a leave of absence from his job. This young couple is under tremendous stress but have persevered. They have had large bills monthly for alternative treatments that have extended Julia's life. The last major fundraiser was in April 2012 and that story can be found here: http://www.northumberlandtoday.com/2012/04/10/friends-hope-ruby-red-slippers-will-help-harris-home-safely
I want to make this Christmas for this young family one full of wonder and support. Julia is on a new type of chemo that knocks her out, and she is trying every option for treatment. I would love to see them free of the worry about how they will pay their bills over the next few months. This is a chance to help a brave young couple who have fought and fought the type of nightmare that only cancer can bring. Now that the situation is escalating in difficulty, it would be great if others could step in to help. Please share this link with your friends and family.
