Vegan Glasgow! Devil's Coffee Club
Donation protected
Living in the Veganism capital of the UK and being an avid cook I've decided to take the plunge and try to open my own vegan junk Café!!
I've wanted to run my own ethical, animal friendly business since I went vegan and rediscovered the magic of the kitchen and the opportunity to bring that to the city I love is one I can't pass up!
I want to bring together everyone from potential converts to die hard activists together and in the spirit of that I plan on using the space as an information and activism hub for anyone wanting to know more or to get a coffee and fried "chicken" after a long day's demonstrating!
I also plan on using the space for local and indie art projects. Such as a gallery for independent artists who wish to exhibit their work without a massive exhibition fee, a potential music space for bands to showcase their work and reach a potentially new crowd, alongside an indie store for clothing brands and designers to have face to face interaction with customers while selling their work.
The money I raise will be used for:-
Securing a central location in Glasgow City. These can range from £12-17000 per year so donations enable me to secure a prime location with longevity while I establish the business as a leader in the Glasgow vegan scene
Fitting a high end coffee bar and kitchen so i can provide the best quality food and coffee to everyone, while minimising the possibility of cross contamination for people with allergies to nuts, soy etc.
Food will be locally sourced/sourced from reputable suppliers and the majority of products will be made in-house. These will be fortnightly based on current sales forecasts and will be adjusted accordingly. This also allows me to provide seasonal specials and reduce stock if a product isn't selling as well as anticipated
Decorating and furnishing with a secret theme. All cleaning products and furnishings will be 100% vegan. The locations I am looking at can seat between 30/50 people plus a function room/gallery&retail space for the following:-
Supporting independent artists by setting up a gallery/music/store area. Having this space will encourage other small local arts based businesses to bring their customer bases into one space, allowing multiple revenue streams through the Café. Also, getting licensing for and putting on live music will introduce people to us who wouldn't necessarily stop in for food or coffee.
Advertising in local newspapers and targeting social media influencers local to the area who can bring in business from further afield. This will allow me to market the business as a brand and give me franchise options in the future.
There will be rewards in place for higher donors but those remain to be revealed at a later date!!
Any and all donations are extremely welcomed and I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Anything you can give is a massive help and I look forward to seeing you all when we open!
Stay happy, stay healthy, go vegan!
