Hattie and William Craig Memorial

At 26 weeks and 1 day Stephanie went into preterm labor. On December 3rd 2018, 2 beautiful babies were born, Hattie and William. Less then 2lbs each and about 13.5" tall. Rushed by NICU trauma ambulance crews, PANDA Team from OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital and Legacy Emanuel Randall's Children Hospital, they got them stable and to OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland Oregon.
The babies were doing good and stable, both with heart murmurs and underdeveloped organs. On December 11th Hattie started to have medical problems with her organs, her intestine ruptured and due to her size and condition the doctors could only place drain tubes and couldn't repair the rupture. She began to have kidney failure and her body shut down. She passed away December 12th at 155am in her fathers arms.
William is stable and good but being watched carefully due to his sister's condition. Since birth he has grown to 14 1/8" and weighs 1lb 14oz. He continues to fight every day for improvement. Mom and Dad try to come daily to sing, read, talk to William or help the nurses with his daily care: bathing, feeding, snuggling, changing diapers, meeting with the Doctors, and just being present.
Mom (Stephanie) was an environmental educator for a non-profit but was terminated during her 5th month of pregnancy, due to being pregnant. Dad (Fermore) was recently laid off from his general labor job. Both are seeking employment but hard with the little one in the hospital.
Unfortunately the OHSU Ronald McDonald House has a wait list and we live out of the mileage requirement. We are seeking any donations to help the family with some of the expenses: lodging, mileage, food, living expenses while William is still in the NICU until March 10th, 2019, their due date.
Thank you and bless you and yours during this time.
