Having Miguels back, no matter what

If you know Miguel, then I don't need to tell you how kind hearted, caring, motivating and loving he is. He is the most positive influences I have me in my life with a constant hunger for inspiring and helping those around him.  But like I said if you know him then this nothing you are not aware of.

If you don't know Miguel then let me tell you a little bit about him.  Miguel has been working at Woodward West, motivating and inspiring  campers of all ages to push the limits, have fun, and stay healthy. Helping both children and adults grow, both mentally and physically. Before Woodward he came from his beautiful home of Puerto Rico, where he managed to organize, fund and construct on of the best skateparks on the island. Back in the states he also helped organize, run and support skate contests... The ramps built at all the blade cup events... That was him too.

He has been the backbone of our industry for years and now its time to have his back and lend some help.

As many of you know Miguel has had back problems for many years, even though you would never hear him complain about it, it has gotten to the point where surgery was a necessity.  Being in excruciating pain, but still managing to work all week, drive out to whatever event or session going down, get the homies all together and motivated to get out and skate.

He recently went into surgery and is currently going through the early stages of recovery, with lots of hard work and healing ahead of him. When I spoke with him recently I saw him very overwhelmed and stressed financially when all the medical bills began to relentlessly come in.  Seeing my friend in physical pain, and being bombarded with bills and expenses was too much. Already being hit with nearly $10,000 in medical bills and more on the way, I thought a goal of 8,000 could be met but if we could out do that it would be absolutelty amazing. I know for a fact that like myself there are hundred of people who love Miguel, and would do anything to help on his road to recovery. 

If you have anything you can contribute to help pay for his very heavy medical expenses I know that it would mean the world to him and to his family.

If you dont have any extra funds to help, thats okay too. But reaching out to him or even writing a memory that you shared with him would help him just as much.

We love you Miguel

Si conoces a Miguel, no necesitas que te diga el tipo de persona que es, lo grande que tiene el corazón o lo tan generoso y motivador que es. Es una de las personas más influyentes que he conocido a lo largo de toda mi vida, con unas ganas constantes de ayudar y animar a los que le rodean. Pero como ya he dicho, si lo conoces, no voy a contarte nada que ya no sepas.

Si no lo conoces, entonces deja que te haga a la idea; Miguel ha estado trabajando en Woodward West, inspirando y motivando a los campers de todo tipo de edades a superar sus límites, pasarlo bien y mantenerse sanos. Ayudando tanto a niños como adultos a crecer, tanto física como mentalmente.
Antes de pisar Woodward, estuvo en Puerto Rico, lugar donde creció, y donde hizo todo lo que estuvo en sus manos para mejorar la escena organizando eventos, construyendo uno de los mejores skateparks de la Isla… Y cuando llegó a Estados Unidos, no cesó con su cometido y ayudó también a avivar la escena, ayudando a organizar competiciones, construir módulos… Las rampas de las Blading Cups, bueno, eso fue también gracias a Miguel.

Miguel ha sido la columna vertebral de la industria durante muchos años y ahora es el momento de cubrir la suya.

Como algunos de vosotros sabréis, Miguel ha tenido graves problemas de espalda durante varios años, y aunque nunca le hayas escuchado quejarse de ello, ha llegado hasta el punto de requerir cirugía. Estando en un agudísimo dolor, pero aún así apañándoselas para trabajar cada semana, conducir allá donde hubiera gente dispuesta a patinar o reunir y motivar a los colegas a salir a darle.

Hace una semana ingresó en el hospital para que le operaran y se encuentra actualmente en la primera etapa de su larga recuperación. Hace poco hablé con él y lo vi abrumado y estresado por la cantidad de facturas médicas a las que tiene que hacer frente. Verlo así, con tanto dolor y bombardeado a facturas fue demasiado. Sé con certeza que, como yo, hay cientos de personas que aman a Miguel y harían cualquier cosa para ayudarlo en su camino hacia la recuperación.

Si crees que puedes ayudar a contribuir con sus gastos médicos, significaría mucho para él y su familia.

Si no dispones de fondos para ayudarle, también está bien, seguro le ayudará que te pongas en contacto con él y compartas un recuerdo que pasaras junto a él
