From Diane Zandstra:
"Hello Friends!
I’ve recently been diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer, the non-aggressive sort on my right side. The plan is for a mastectomy and reconstruction, no radiation, and hopefully not any chemotherapy. Surgery is scheduled for Tue/Jan 31 here in Nashville. My doctors are THE BEST and we are old friends since my last go around with this in 2010 (lumpectomy and radiation on the left side then).
Getting to this place has been an overwhelming experience, both fearful and decidedly beautiful. Over the past few months I’ve been able to run a marathon, sing a concert and at church, and share some simple and incredible experiences with good and caring people all while leading up to and dealing with this diagnosis. It has been a miracle only made possible by THE BEST people who are standing with and running alongside me. A miracle.
As I navigate the next steps in this journey, I’m asking for your help, connection, and prayerful uplifting light (and tacos, tacos are awesome in every situation).
I appreciate you letting me share this news and I’ll update as I can along the way."
