Stop Lice In School!!

The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board needs to know that they cannot continue to make decisions for our kids when they affect their health, well being and our homes. Recently the board decided that children with lice and nits will now be allowed to remain in school. We as parents are outraged. These are our children and our homes so we should have gotten a say in this. Through this fight we have taken every step possible to get this decision reversed. The last step being a delegation to the board.
This delegation was a tremendous amount of work and was full of excellent points with resources and backup. This delegation was presented to the board on February 22nd and we officially asked them to reverse their policy. Today we received the email stating that our request has been denied. This has been an unreal experience and the lack of concern amd respect from the board is tremendous. We are not giving up this fight. Our kids have the right to an education where the risk of lice spreading is not increasing by the day. As our next step we are raising funds for legal representation so that we can take them to court and show them that we are not accepting this policy. If we do not raise enough money or we raise enough plus more the money or remaining money will go to head lice treatment products, combs etc for those who can't afford it. So please I am asking everyone to donate what they can and together we can hopefully take back control of our kids and keep lice out of school. Let's be the voice for our kids and the future kids to come. It's time to take a stand. Thankyou!!!!
