Healing for Michelle Giannini

Donation protected

Dear StMS Parents,

For the past year, the St. Michael Catholic School community was blessed by the dedication and love of Ms. Michelle Giannini, our Assistant Principal.   Her smile was a warm welcome to all the staff, parents, students, and prospective families she supported on a daily basis.

As you can imagine, the loss of income for such an extended period, combined with the cost of her medical treatments, could create an overwhelming burden during a time when Ms. Giannini needs to focus on rest and restoring her health.

On March 7, 2017, our community was devastated by the news that Ms. Giannini would have to leave our school, effective immediately, due to a serious health condition.

We learned a day later, in a heartfelt letter written by Ms. Giannini herself, that for eight years she has been suffering with a severe form of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. It came as a complete shock to all because Ms. Giannini never seemed to tire in her work, or lack any spirit or joy as she went about tirelessly leading and advocating for our children and school.  Little did we know the pain and fatigue she battled regularly because she never complained.

Following her most recent comprehensive examination and testing, which showed new complications, the attending physician strongly urged her to immediately stop working and to focus solely on rest and therapy to regain her health as much as possible.  It is unclear at this stage how long this process will take or if she will ever be able to return to pursuing either a full time or part time career.  Her days now must be dedicated to stabilizing her condition and then working towards regaining her health over time.

All Ms. Giannini has asked for is prayers. Considering what she has done for us, our school, and our children, yes, we can definitely pray for her and reach out to her so can feel continually connected with our school family.

But for any St. Michael parents who want to provide a simple gift to Ms. Giannini so she can focus on what's truly important - her health - this gofundme page is another opportunity to show your support.

All our prayers are with Ms. Giannini on this difficult road ahead, and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts for her servant leadership to our school family.   We really do have so many angels here at St. Micheal School, and we're blessed to part of something so special.
