Heart for Husky

In mid August, our family rescued an immensely furry, copper colored, blue-eyed deviant now known as 'Diego'. He was emaciated and exhausted, with patches of clumped fur that desperately needed brushing. We didn't know much about huskies, save that they were really active and really hard to train but we knew that he needed our help. We originally planned to take him to a shelter but he quickly grew attached to us, and we to him. It wasn't long before a shiny new tag was dangling around his neck and he answered to his given name.

We've been reshaping our lives to suit his needs since then. Everything seemed fine until a visit to the vet for tests and vaccinations revealed that Diego was heartworm positive. There's very little we wouldn't do for our husky but the price tag on heartworm treatment is tremendous with the short amount of time we've had to prepare. We're hoping this page will help to get him the help he desperately needs before his condition debilitates to a point where he is beyond help. Every little bit helps and we're all greatful for it! Please help us to save this beautiful, amazing dog so he can know all the joys and love that a dog should.
