Hector Baca Legal Fees

Donation protected
Hector was arrested on Friday, January 4 when attending a scheduled immigration interview.  At the time he was arrested and processed into the system, several different officers all commented to him that they did not understand why he was being arrested and that he didn’t belong there. There has been no bail or bond set at this time.

The courts are closed due to the government shut down, his petition for asylum is waiting for the judge’s signature. He is from Nicaragua, where they country is on the verge of a civil war at any moment.

Hector has never been in trouble, pays child support and supports his wife and step son who all depend on him emotionally and financially.

He has tried several times to follow the proper channels to get his immigration papers in order, but each time has hit obstacles beyond his control.

He is currently in process of: obtaining a green card (I-130) which was approved, filing for asylum, and petitioning  the prosecutor to reopen his original case in an effort to remove his deportation order.

We are raising money to pay his legal fees. He has already spent $10,000 in legal fees up til now, these will grow as we continue to fight this.

We also welcome any legal assistance, connections or advice that may be relevant to this situation.
