Hedda's Heart Failure Fund

Hi I'm Hedda and my heart is failing. In March 2017, I entered the Spectrum Health DeVos Heart Failure and Transplant Clinic hoping to receive a life altering/saving LVAD heart pump.  Once my insurance finds my condition bad enough and approves this surgery (my heart EF has gone from 34 to 26) , it will be a major open heart surgery. In the meantime, May 2017, I had a defibrillator implanted to avoid Sudden Cardic Death. During a long, difficult battle in 2005/06 with breast cancer, I suffered a life changing, near death chemo toxicity  and developed Doxorubicin Cardiomyopathy. The chemo drug Doxorubicin damaged my heart significantly. Since that time, I have suffered many episodes of Congestive Heart Failure, in-and-out of the hospital.  The left ventricle of my heart is not pumping out enough blood. The chamber has enlarged severely. This makes breathing difficult for me and forces my oxygen levels to drop with exertion and simple exercise.  Makes me very weak.  Foggy minded. Prone to falling. Difficult to sleep well at night. My heart rate will spike high and my blood pressure is erratic.  Every day activities are very difficult such as walking upstairs, washing her hair, dressing...but those who know her knows me know I keep on going with a smile on her face.(most of the time).  Depression sets in. Inability to work, daily activities are limited by lack of strength and erratic blood pressures. A "life-line" system has been installed for my safety during the times I am home alone.  I applied for disability in March 2017 and have finally been approved benefits, however, I will not receive my first payment until March 28, 2018.  Family and friends help as much as they can. My  struggles are real and life altering but this Spring at least my financial worries will be over. If you can help, thank you. Thank you very much.
