Hey there!
I'm a 21-year-old trans guy from Ireland (he/him) and hoooo~ boy, I am pretty damn disabled.
Back in June, I was diagnosed with the potential of having endometriosis after 7 years of not knowing why I was in pain so often. As a result, I had a laparoscopy to officially diagnose me with endometriosis - the surgeon found two clots, and scarring on my appendix.
Since this surgery, my health has severely deteriorated to the point I have been frequently experiencing psuedoseizures; uterine tissue shedding; inability to eat; and chronic fatigue. I've reached the point I am now unable to walk pain-free without a cane but even this is becoming difficult for me, leaving me with the reduced ability in my dominant hand. I have regularly been unable to leave the house to conserve my energy due to this, and it's desperately affecting my ability to work.
So, we know where this is going: I need a wheelchair. It's going to cost a ton and as a student, I'm really unable to afford it. I have about £500 that I'm able to put towards it but, obviously, that's nowhere close to the quote I was given by Quickie back in December 2018.
This is where youse wonderful lot come in.
If you're able, please consider donating. It would honestly give me back so much control over my life. Any excess money shall be put towards smart crutches and other aids.
After that, I shall be donating the rest to Mermaids, the Belfast Trans Resource Centre, and Over The Rainbow Bournemouth - splitting the total evenly.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. It would mean so much if you could even just share my gofundme - it would help a ton.
Much love x
