Help Agora Get Around!

Agora Crisis Center (501 c3) has been serving Albuquerque and beyond by providing free and confidential emotional support and referrals since 1970!

Throughout our 46 years of operation, we have thrived due to the amazing community at the University of New Mexico, especially because the main source for  our volunteer population comes from students and other UNM community members. Our volunteers go through over 40+ hours of training in active listening skills, specific lecture topics that are relevant to the community we serve (such as mental health issues like PTSD and suicide prevention, sexual assault, domestic violence, and more), as well as 16 hours of small group discussions and role play.

We facilitate education opportunities, resource and recruitment events around campus year round. These events are a vital part of recruiting new volunteers into our training classes each semester, and to continue to educate our community about the services we provide, all free of cost!

As our organization has grown (we currently have 200+ volunteers), the need to provide more materials at each tabling event has also grown.  A few years ago, we had a used earth mover/utility vehicle donated to Agora Crisis Center and it has since then become financially unsound to continue to repair the vehicle. 

This is why we are coming to you, our community, to ask to help us fill this need for a utility vehicle and help us continue to interact and reach you. We continue to be grateful for all of your support and thank you for each act of generosity.

As the Associate Director of the Agora Crisis Center, I am spearheading this fundraiser on behalf of the dedicated volunteers, staff and outreach team that does all of the heartfelt work, supporting our callers and chat visitors, daily.
