Hi everyone, I’m Zac Rogers the oldest brother of 5 boys, and I’m here to raise funds for my brother Benjamin Rogers, also known as “Ben”, who passed away unexpectedly this past Saturday July 13th, 2024 at the age of 35.
Ben was the absolute kindest hearted person, who was the energy and life of any room. Anyone that knows or has known Ben during his lifetime, knows he was the epitome of laughter and having a good time. Ben had that contagious smile and laugh that would have anyone on the floor; at the same time, he would be trying to get someone through a hardship, whether a stranger, close friend, or family member, no matter the hurdle or struggle he was enduring.
For those of you that knew Ben, you knew he struggled with several things, including alcoholism, which became the biggest hurdle in his life, that he was never able to fully overcome. What I can tell you is, Ben wanted to do better, he wanted to get the help, he wanted to prove us all wrong. Ben was one of the hardworking guys I’ve ever met; when he was in the right mindset, no one could out work him. Ben has battled with alcohol for many years, and we all witnessed his struggles with it and tried to help him to the best of our ability. Over the last couple of years, Ben has been in and out of rehab, the hospital, and meetings to try and get himself better, but did not yield any long term success.
Unfortunately, Ben passed away in a hotel room on July 13th, 2024 after a night out with two friends he met in rehab. One of his friends that was there that night with him, was denied a place at the rehab center beforehand, where Ben has been going to for help and detox. Ben decided not to go back into rehab this time since his friend was denied. They instead made arraignments to stay in the hotel and enjoy themselves. Ben had a lot to drink that night and apparently slipped and fell on his face. He was later helped to his bed by his friends and passed out. Ben never woke up the next morning, passing away in his sleep. We still are looking for answers as you can imagine, since we are still unclear of what fully happened that night.
Ben in my opinion, never had a real chance to live up to his full potential because of this disease he had with alcohol. We have many questions and we are seeking answers to what fully took place. We also want to provide a proper send off for Ben and something to keep his memory alive. We need some help and appreciate anything that anyone can provide no matter the size. Anything we raise, will be used for funeral service expenses and memorial purposes.
May Ben’s soul rest in eternal peace.
