Help B-Side Records In Time Of Need

Steve Manley has been at B-Side Records on State St for decades. If you've ever stopped by, you've probably seen him since he's there every day of the week (he is the owner and sole employee). He works every day not only because it's his passion, but because of the decline in popularity of physical music, which has resulted in the inability to maintain and pay helping hands.

Many a regular customer has asked about his absence over the past week. On Monday Nov. 28th, Steve was biking to work in the rain when his front tire slipped and wedged into the space between railroad tracks, causing him to fall and break his hip in two places and fracture his right elbow. He needed surgery and will be out of work for this winter.

A few former employees and friends of the business have taken time out of their busy lives to learn or re-learn how to run the store, but this cannot be kept up financially for the duration of his long recovery time. Since we're currently leading up to Christmas, we'll be needing two (less experienced) people on the clock almost every day, and with the estimated recovery time of 3 months before he is fit enough to work alone, we will be needing around $2000/month to be able to pay those keeping the shop open and recover from lost sales due to shortened hours.

There is a possibility that if we can't make it through the season, B-Side may no longer be able to keep its doors open. This has been a shock and a devastation to him and the family, so absolutely anything you can give is greatly appreciated.
