Help Connor the Cat Get Well
Tax deductible
Connor the Cat is my very first foster and I could not have asked for a better cat. He is by far the sweetest, most affectionate little lovebug I have ever encountered.
Around St. Patrick’s Day 2018, Janine Wagner of Janine the Bean Rescue (http://www.janinethebeanrescue.org/ ) rescued a very sickly-looking cat off the streets of Rochester, New York. Connor would have certainly died had she not done so. As far as we know, Connor has spent his entire life on the streets. She took him to the vet where he had surgery to remove tumors under his tongue, was dewormed, and neutered. Janine brought him to my house on March 31.
Connor developed some health issues: sneezing blood, diarrhea, wasn’t gaining any weight, and was losing all his fur. I was beginning to feel like a failure as a foster. We got him to another vet.
This second vet diagnosed him with a myriad of illnesses: giardiasis (an intestinal parasite from contaminated water), GI parasites (general), an upper respiratory infection, lice, ear mites, gingivitis, ulcerative stomatitis, and dehydration. He was sent home to me with buckets of medications which I dutifully dispensed as needed over several weeks and he started feeling better. However, at a follow-up appointment today, they determined he had an ear infection. While checking his ears, the vet noticed a “mass.” Connor will have to go back, be sedated, and have this mass surgically biopsied.
Janine said this is the sickest cat she has ever rescued and I know it has already cost her a ton of money in vet bills and medications. Now we are looking at a good deal more money for the biopsy alone. Even if it does turn out to be polyps (which is unlikely), surgery to remove them will be expensive. I am trying to raise funds to keep this beautiful soul alive. I simply cannot imagine not having the money to treat Connor after all this poor little fellow has been through and all the illnesses he has battled. He is the gentlest soul I have ever had the pleasure of sharing my home with. He is only now learning what it’s like to love and be loved, to feel safe, to play with toys, to sleep in a warm home, and to have a loving lap to sit on. Never once has he ever tried to scratch or bite anyone…he has just remained so steadfastly sweet and tender.
I am asking for money to help pay for my foster cat's ongoing medical care. This poor little loving soul deserves a break in life. I hope you can find it in your heart to donate ... any amount would help! No amount is too small.
