Help create a RUCKUS
Donation protected
Hello! I am Anastasia Maywood, an Edmonton-based choreographer and producer. I am working with local Edmonton-based artists to create a new dance work.
I started this work in the summer of 2016 and presented it at works-in-progress showing in September, alongside fellow artists Krista Posyniak and Alison Kause. We are planning to self-produce a double bill of our new dance works, titled RUCKUS.
In February and March 2017 I have a four-week residency hosted by the Good Women Dance Collective. I am raising funds to help pay the dancers involved, the visual artist, Sydney Lancaster and myself for our time in the studio. $1700 will cover artist honorariums and materials. It is incredibly important to me that the artists I work for receive monetary compensation for their time and art.
This time in the studio is invaluable. It will provide me and the artists I am working with time to explore, research, play and deepen the work. I want to create meaningful, engaging work to present to my community, the arts community and the general Edmonton public.
Your support of my work and contemporary art is incredibly important and I want to thank you thank you thank you for reading this, sharing this and/or donating to my campaign! Any bit helps to bring me closer to my goal. If you are unable to donate, no problem! Please help spread the word via social media! Thank you again!
